All American Pro Wrestling Focused on Charity this Fall | The ...

Charity has always been a core principle of All American Pro Wrestling.
The Southern Illinois-based organization began in 2006 with a benefit show for the victims of a local house fire, and in the years since, AAPW has taken every opportunity to continue serving the community.
This fall, the charity efforts of AAPW are hitting full swing.
On Saturday, Aug. 25, members of the front office staff and roster volunteered to help with a service project at the Church of Christ in Carbondale, Ill.

The church had organized a furniture donation drive for international students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and needed help distributing the items to students throughout town.
Terry Taylor, an elder at the church who helped organize the event, said most international students arrive on campus without many possessions and can?t necessarily afford to buy them.
The church gave out more than 80 pieces of furniture ? ranging from coffee tables and bookshelves to beds and couches ? to more than 20 recipients.
Taylor said the church appreciated the support of AAPW, which made the process easier.
?We?re a small church of about 50,? he said, noting that many in that group also aren?t capable of the required heavy lifting. ?We wouldn?t have been able to do this.?

Food drive

On Sept. 22, AAPW will host its second annual food drive for the Marion Ministerial Alliance. At the ?Collision? taping that day, AAPW will be collecting canned and non-perishable food items.
Any fan who brings a donation will be given $2 off admission. All food collected will be donated to the ministerial alliance?s food pantry and distributed to families in need from there.
Last year, AAPW hosted a successful food drive and looks to duplicate and improve on that success. Bringing a canned good donation will allow adult fans to see NWA World?s Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce face Heath Hatton for only $8!

American Cancer Society benefit

Finally, on Oct. 20, AAPW hosts ?Zero Hour,? the promotion?s sixth anniversary event and annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
All profits from ticket sales will benefit that organization, and various other elements of the night ? including a silent auction and a raffle ? will also raise funds for the cause.
Colt Cabana will appear at the event, which is also the second season finale for AAPW?s flagship series ?Collision.? The event will be taped for DVD.
