In today?s Twitterverse, one well-timed, well-thought-out post can go a long, long way. Just ask Demarcus Catchings of Arlington, Texas. Less than 140 characters earned Demarcus a college scholarship.
As part of its Cash 4 College campaign, Champs Sports, aka?@champssports,?asked entrants to tweet a photo depicting their ?game? in the classroom, on the court or in the community. For his winning photo, Catchings not only received a $15,000 college scholarship?he also won a trip for two to the Russell Athletic Bowl on December 29 at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando.
Catchings was in the building as Virginia Tech outlasted Rutgers for a 13-10 overtime win. He was invited on to the field at halftime to receive his scholarship from Jonathan Krusewski, brand manager at Champs Sports. Not a bad reward for following and?tweeting at?@champssports on Twitter.
So get on your Twitter game?ASAP.
